The elves once again fought against Aenlyth, the Devourer, in her own territory of the Shadow Realms. The evil higher entity was defeated, and to prevent her return, the Elven Lords had to sacrifice themselves. A new era of hope and peace began, or so it seemed…

The defeat of Aenlyth did not destroy Evil itself. Outside the elven realms, there is no safe place for the elves. Humans grow in number and ambition as they spread across the lands. Beneath the surface, great forces are stirring, and even the dragons, long banished, are twisting impatiently in their lairs. Priests and cultists of forgotten religions rise from the shadows, while ancient powers ascend once more.

The only way the Powers can interfere in the world is through their avatars, to whom they are bound and, thus, vulnerable; surely there is more than one champion who could face them and even destroy them. But that does not mean the higher entities have turned their backs on the world’s problems… In fact, they are carefully choosing their fighters for a war that is about to come.
